Global studies show that 80% of participants using magic mushroom therapy have been successful in quitting smoking, and the US Food and Drug Administration have labelled the use of synthetic magic mushrooms as "breakthrough therapies."
Australia has been slow in joining the international lift of the stigma surrounding psychedelic therapy, but is finally having its first ever trial to use psychedelic drugs to treat mental illness.
If trials are successful in Australia, less people will suffer from depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD and over prescription of anti-depressants. MDMA and magic mushrooms are about five years away from being approved nationally, with the Victorian Government being proposed as the official leader in psychedelic medicine research.
